Frequently Asked
Questions:
1. Who takes public speaking training classes?
Who should take them?
Anyone who has
a need to or expects to speak before others, regardless of the size
of the audience or the setting. Those who would definitely benefit include
employers; those making business or sales presentations; teachers of
all types; anyone active in civic, religious or charitable groups, supervisors;
union representatives; political activists
2. What do I
need to do to prepare for the class?
Not Much. We ask
only that you have in mind a familiar topic about which we will ask
you to speak for about 5 minutes. You won't even have to think about
lunch...We'll provide it.
3. Is the class interactive?
Absolutely. Your
participation is an integral part of the learning process. You will
be amazed how much you can learn from the input of others and how much
they can learn from you. It can also be enjoyable!
4. Will I be presenting and speaking to the class?
Towards the end
of the seminar, each participant will be asked to deliver a speech of
no longer than 5 minutes. The feedback will undoubtedly be very valuable.
5. Will I be video taped, and supplied with a CD?
Yes. You will take
with you a CD copy of your speech which you can use as a point of reference
when you prepare for the real thing.
6. Do you provide
private coaching?
Sure. If, after
the seminar, you are interested in follow-up coaching and advice, please
contact us and we will be glad to make arrangements to help in any way
possible. Neal has tutored many and would be speakers and can be booked
to give private instruction.
7. Can you come
to our location (corporate office, institution, home)?
We would be pleased
to present the Effective Public Speaking Seminar to groups of your employees
on site, at your offices. Not only is that option cost effective, you
will have considerable maximum flexibility in scheduling, including
the possibility of weekend programs. Please note that this service is
not limited to the New York City area.
8. Is there advanced
training after completion of the class?
Personalized, custom
follow-up training is offered to meet your specific needs and can be
arranged by simply calling us or sending an e mail. We will be happy
to discuss our fees and to make any arrangements. Individual coaching
is helpful before your speech or presentation..
9. Can I get
help with Speech writing?
Many people want
help in writing their speeches, to organize the best presentation and
to save personal time. There is a reason why busy officials and executives
employ speech writers. Neal has written countless speeches for both
himself and others and would be happy to help as you prepare to write
yours
10. Is everyone
nervous or fearful of public speaking?
Of course. It's
perfectly normal to have butterflies before speaking. In fact, you'd
be amazed how many well known and polished speakers have admitted to
being nervous -- at times even petrified -- before standing up to speak
in public. Proper preparation, as we will discuss in the seminar, will
build confidence and help overcome the jitters we all have at one time
or another.
